
Alaska Airlines Flight Training Scholarship
Pays for one Washington high school student to train for a private pilot certificate.

Requirements
- You must be a high school student at least 16 and a half years old as of March 1, 2026.
- You must be a US citizen living in Washington state.
- You must have finished or be enrolled in a private pilot ground school course.
- You must start the process of getting an FAA third class medical certificate when you apply.
- You must join the Museum's Flight Mentoring Club and meet at least once a month.
- You and a parent or guardian must attend a pre-training workshop and the scholarship celebration.
- Preference goes to students who took part in Museum education programs.
How to apply
- Read the Museum's Flight Training Fundamentals document with a parent or guardian.
- Finish or enroll in a private pilot ground school course.
- Begin the FAA third class medical process.
- Write the two required essays and apply when the form opens in mid-December.
