Who is actually lending the money?

Stratus Financial, our lending partner, founded by FAA certificated flight and ground instructors. They look beyond the typical FICO score, at you as a whole aviator.

We do not quote rates, and you should be suspicious of any school that does. What we can do is get you in front of a lender who understands flight training, with your situation already written down.

Do I need a co-borrower?

Almost certainly. A co-borrower shares responsibility for the loan with you, and it is usually a parent or another family member. You will need one to submit your application, so it is worth having the conversation early rather than at the last screen.

You put their name, email and phone on the application. They get their own invitation by email and complete their portion themselves. You never fill anything out on their behalf.

What if I do not have one?

That is not a dead end. Start the application anyway and ask for a call: our team goes over the options with you, usually within the hour.

Does applying affect my credit score?

Not at this stage. The lender runs a soft credit inquiry to prequalify you, which does not affect your score. A hard inquiry only happens later, as part of final loan execution.
