Requirements

  • You must be a female high school or college student.
  • You need a grade point average of 2.8 or higher.
  • The award covers a private pilot certificate or an instrument rating.
  • You must be a current AOPA member.
  • You must finish your flight training within 12 months of the award date.

How to apply

  1. Join AOPA, which is free for high school students.
  2. Create an account in the AOPA Foundation application system, since your AOPA login will not work there.
  3. Fill out the one general application, which matches you to every award you qualify for.
  4. Upload your transcript and references and submit before the round closes.
